Spending holidays apart
I am so fortunate that I don’t have to spend many holidays away from Troy because I know so many LDR couples out there that have to spend almost all holidays apart. I am so lucky that I get to spend Thanksgiving, Christmas, Fourth of July, New Years, and Troy’s birthday with him, but fast approaching is Easter, one of the few holidays we always spend apart (those holidays include Valentine’s Day, Halloween, and my birthday) . As you can see, holidays together and holidays apart look very different!
I love the Easter festivities. I love decorating eggs and putting together Easter baskets. I love the family time and the Easter foods and spring clothes. I very much like Peeps! Unfortunately all these things I have to miss out on once again(with him and my family that is), and it sucks. I try not to get to discouraged because I know that we will be together before I know it, but it still is sad that Easter time will come and go and we wouldn’t have gotten to do Easter things together.Luckily I thought about this awhile ago and planned ahead. While I was home for my spring break I put together his Easter basket and left it for him. It was filled with some of his favorite candy (and my favorite candy in hopes he would share). Also while I was home we did a fun Easter egg hunt at Disney (anyone headed to Epcot anytime soon, definitely check it out!) A few Easter memories to look back on when Easter finally does arrive. Other then the sweet memories, I guess I will be spending Easter staring at my computer screen, the only way I know how to spend time with the ones I love on special days. Sure, it’s not the same, but it is certainly better than nothing.
